Formation. (December 1944)
Formed during the month of December 1944 (Feldpost change entered 16 January 1945) in Germany, possibly at Bayreuth-Bindlach or Schönfeld-Seifersdorf (ex-3./NAGr. 2). Without aircraft at the beginning of December, by the end of the month it had received 8 Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6/R2 and 3 Bf 109 G-8/U2 single-seat fighters outfitted for reconnaissance use. The personnel were highly experienced, having just come from many months of duty in the Balkans and Hungary.[1]
Germany. (January 1945 - May 1945)
January 1945: the whereabouts of the Staffel is unknown, but it is not thought to have joined NAGr. 15 at the front until after it departed North Poland during the second half of January.
4 February 1945: at Schweidnitz (Swidnica)/53 km south-west of Breslau under Stab/NAGr. 15.
28 February 1945: Bf 109 G-8 shot down by AA-fire - location not reported, 100%, pilot KIA.
3 March 1945: Bf 109 G-l0 damaged by enemy fire during a recce mission.
8 March 1945: now at Bautzen-Litten/50 km east of Dresden in Saxony under Stab/NAGr. 15.
8 March 1945: Bf 109 G-8 shot down by enemy aircraft west of Bunzlau (Boleslawiec)/c.95 km west of Breslau in Silesia, 100%, pilot MIA.
16 April 1945: had 14(12) Bf 109 G-6s and G-14s at Bautzen Litten.
18 April 1945: transferred to Reichenberg (Liberec)/90 km NNE of Prague.
3 May 1945: still at Reichenberg (Liberec) under Stab/NAGr. 15.
