General: AKA Ansbach-Katterbach. Fliegerhorst. 35 km southwest of Nürnberg. 4.5 km east northeast of Schloss Ansbach.

History:

1935 – Construction of the military airfield commenced.

1938 – Completion of the military airfield.

Dimensions: 1190m x 823m

Infrastructure: Five or more hangers and numerous barracks on the north and west sides. Paved ramps, apron and perimeter tracks. Dispersal to west south and east or airfield. Airfield served by rail branch line.

Remarks: Codename “Altvater”. Allied code R45.
