Aufklärungsgruppe (H) Süd

Formed 24 January 1942 (ex-Koluft AOK 4), probably at Roslavl/Russia, and assigned to VIII. Fliegerkorps. Initially attached to the Stab were: 7.(H)/13, 6.(H)/32, Stabsbildabteilung (Stabia), Kurierstaffel 3, Kurierstaffel 11 and Ln.Betr.Kp.(H)(mot) 6, the latter for signals support. The Stab was authorized 5 officers, 6 NCOs, 14 enlisted, 3 liaison aircraft, 5 trucks, 4 cars and 1 motorcycle. The Stab, with headquarters in Roslavl, was established as part of a reorganization designed to better support the desperate defensive fighting along the front southwest of Moscow held by 4th Army and 2nd Panzer Army. Renamed Stab/Nahaufklärungsgruppe 6 on or about 18 April 1942.[1]
