Aufklärungsstaffel (F) des Flakkorps I

Formation

Formed February-March 1940 for reconnaissance and artillery spotting duties in support of I.Flakkorps during the campaign in the West, beginning 10 May 1940. Initially equipped with 5 Dornier Do 17Ms, but also had Fi 156s and other types. [1]


Attack on France and the Low Countries

19.4.40: (Lf1.3) - Fieseler Fi 156 crashed taking off from Fp.Himmerod/c.l5 km NE of Bitburg in the Eifel, 50%.

22.4.40: (Lf1.3) - Junkers W 34 damaged taxying at Fp.Frankfurt-Rebstock, 5%.

23.5.40: (Lf1.3) - Do 17M shot down or crashed - no details, 100%, Lt. Engel + 1 WIA.

13.6.40: (Lf1.3) - Do 17M(?) shot down in air battle over Chateau Thierry, 100%, Hptm. ‘Lorenz + 1 KIA and 1 WIA.

22.6.40: Staffel disbanded shortly after the armistice signed this date. [2]
