Apr 1944 – 3(F)./122 operated as an auxilliary bomber unit during raids on Hull and Great Yarmouth in April, dropping both 50kg and 500kg bombs.
1 Apr 1944 – 1(F)./122 was transferred from Athens-Kalamaki to Gutenfeld(East Prussia) on this date to commence conversion to the Messerschmitt Me 410.
15 Apr 1944 – 2(F)./122 flew a mission from Perugia with an Me 410 at 06.44, this aircraft was shot down at 07.30, 7 kms south of Ortona, when flying northwards over the Adriatic.

25-26 Apr 1944 – The Luftwaffe’s main target was Portsmouth on this night, however a variety of targets along the South coast were struck. 1(F)./122 sent out a number of sorties to photograph Portsmouth and lost two Me 410s as a consequence.
From this date until 29 May 1944 1(F)./122 was located at Jürgenfelde.
The crew of Oberlt. Hermann Kroll and Ofrich. Werner Meyer made two sorties to Portsmouth this night, the first as part of a pair of Me 410s that arrived over the town at 01.00 hrs (the second aircraft failed to return from this sortie) and the second was the one that they were shot down on.

27 Apr 1944 – 5(F)./122 photographed the railway yards at Dedowitschi(Dedovichi, Pskovskaya Oblast, Russia) together with the bridge over the nearby river. (Target Code SU 40 18005, Pl.Qu. 25 Ost 98496, 57.33.00N 29.56.00E).  Dedowitschi is located approx 30 km south of Dno.
