Aug 1940 – The Luftwaffe Order of Battle recorded (F)./122 under Luftflotte 2 with the following:-
The Luftwaffe Order of Battle recorded 5(F)./122 under Luftflotte 3 with a mixed stock of He 111 and Do 17 aircraft – 9 on strength of which 7 were servicable.
The Luftwaffe Order of Battle recorded 1(F)./122 with a mixed stock of He 111 and Do 17 aircraft – 9 on strength of which 6 were servicable.
Aug 1940 – 1(F)./122 transferred to Lille-Vendeville/NE France during the latter part of August and remained there until late May or early June 1941.
Around Aug 1940 Stab(F)./122 arrived at Lille-Nord.
2 Aug 1940 - 2(F)./122 were located at Zwischenahn.

|4 Aug 1940||2(F)./122||He 111||Crash landed at Wissel on routine non-combat mission – cause not stated. Oblt. Sommerich and an NCO injured. 70%|
13 Aug 1940 – 3(F)./122 located at Eindhoven with 7 He 111Hs and 4 Junkers Ju 88As under 9.Fliegerdivision, but to the end of the year the Staffel appears to have been mainly involved in Ju 88 conversion training.
4(F)./122 located at Brussels-Evere with a mixed complement of He 111Hs, Ju 88As and Bf 110s operating directly under Luftflotte 2.
5(F)./122 now based at Haute-Fontaine (Attichy)/17 km E of Compiègne with 6 Do 17Ps and He 111Hs and 3 Ju 88As under I.Fliegerkorps/Luftflotte 2. The staffel remained at this undeveloped airfield until the beginning of November when the autumn rains made the field unusable.
Between 15.01 and 16.59 hrs 9 aircraft from 3(F)./122 (Eindhoven) and 4(F)./122 (Evere) departed on reconnaissance sorties. These aircraft landed back at Evere between 20.22 and 21.42 hrs.
