Fliegerführer:
Oberst Friedrich Schily (27 Oct 43 - 19 Apr 44)
Maj. Heinrich Hermes? (20 Apr 44? - 26 Apr 45)
Formation and History. (Apr 43 - May 45)
Ordered formed 15 April 1943 at Pillau on the Baltic coast and placed directly under General der Kampfflieger in Berlin. Various delays were encountered and the Stab did not become operational until October. It was responsible for planning and directing all Luftwaffe training that required cooperation between flying units and the Kriegsmarine, especially U-boats, and used the eastern Baltic for joint training exercises. The air units generally came in from Fliegerführer Atlantik to take part in the exercises and were temporarily subordinated to the Ausbildungs-Fliegerführer. In early 1945 some or all of the operational components of Ausbildungs-Fliegerführer were based at Bug auf Rügen on the Baltic coast and tactically subordinate to Fliegerführer 6/Luftflotte 6. The Stab moved to Heiligenhafen in April and was disbanded there on or about 26 April 1945.[1]
