Ordered formed 26 November 1944 at Pillau/East Prussia to command air units employed along the Baltic coast in support of Admiral Westliche Ostsee (Stab at Bad Ahlbeck). These missions included anti-submarine patrols, reconnaissance, cover for convoys carrying supplies to Kurland (Courland in western Latvia) and returning with wounded and refugees, as well as fighter cover for ports and harbours. Subordinated to Luftwaffenkdo. Ostpreussen to around 12 April 1945, then under Luftwaffenkdo. Nordost.[1]
East Prussia and North Germany. (Dec 44 - Apr 45)
Dec 44: Stab forming at Pillau.[2]
22 Jan 45: Stab transferred to Kamp/Pomerania.[3]
3 Feb 45: Stab at Kamp.[4]
1 Mar 45: Stab now at Swinemünde/Pomerania.[5]
29 Mar 45: Stab now at Ahlbeck/6 km NW of Swinemünde and directly under Luftflotte 6.[6]
4 Apr 45: at Ahlbeck. Stab not again identified and is believed to have been disbanded during the second half of April, possibly at Värlöse.[7]
