Formation and History. (Mar 41 - Apr 41)
Formed at the end of March 1941 at Arad/NW Romania under Luftflotte 4 as a provisional Stab to command fighter and ground support operations for AOK 12’s (12th Army) forthcoming attack into Yugoslavia and Greece that commenced on 6 April 1941. Geschwaderstab/St.G. 77 furnished all or most of the personnel for this exceedingly short-term Stab, which was dissolved by mid-April 1941.[1]
