Formation and History. (Feb 42 - Apr 44)

Formed o/a 2 February 1942 at Bardufoss/North Norway to command air units based in northwest Norway, particularly coastal reconnaissance and anti-shipping formations. Subordinated to Luftflotte 5. On formation, the personnel for the Stab came from KG 26. The Stab remained at Bardufoss throughout its existence, and on 19 or 20 April 1944 it was renamed Fliegerführer 5.[1]
