Fliegerführer: Oberst Wolfgang von Wild (1 Apr 41 - 27 Oct 41)

Formation. (Apr 41)

Formed 1 April 1941 at Swinemünde/Pomerania, but moved to Königsberg/East Prussia a few weeks later. Responsible for armed reconnaissance and mining operations in the Baltic and Gulf of Finland in support of Luftflotte 1 and German naval operations against the Soviet Union.[1]

22 Jun41: Königsberg under Luftflotte 1.[2]

Jun — Oct 41: subordinated Aufklarungsgruppe 125 and Küstenfliegergruppe (or Kampferuppe) 806.

12 Jul 41: an Ar 66 assigned to the Stab shot up over Pernau (Pärnu/Estonia), 80%, Maj. Hans Schiller + 1 WIA.[3]

23 Aug 41: a BV 138 from the Stab shot down by a fighter near Hangö/S Finland, 100%, crew safe.

10 Sep 41: a Fi 156 belonging to the Stab damaged in a crash, 30%.

15 Sep 41: Stab at Pernau (Pärnu)/Estonia.[4]

13 Sep - 13 Oct 41: provided concentrated air support for German amphibious operations against Ösel (Saaremaa), Moon (Muhu) and Dagö (Hiiumaa) Islands off the west coast of Estonia that involved a coordinated effort by the German Army, Navy and Air Force.[5]

27 Oct 41: its task in the Baltic completed, Stab ordered disbanded this date.[6]

4 Nov 41: Stab ordered to Constanta-Mamaia/Romania and subordinated to Luftflotte 4 effective this date.[7]

8 Nov 41: renamed Fliegerführer Süd this date at Constanta-Mamaia.[8]
