Gefechtsverband Michalski
Formed on or about 18 September 1944 under 3. Jagddivision to command various fighter Gruppen assembled to oppose the Allied airborne landings around Arnhem and Eindhoven in Holland. The Jagdgruppen under Michalski’s command included I./JG 3, III./JG 53, II./JG 77 and III./JG 300. In practice, Gefechtsverband Michalski was the Geschwaderstab of JG 4, the Kommodore of which was Maj. Gerhard Michalski. The Gefechtsverband was dissolved around mid-October after it had served its purpose.[1]
