History

Established prewar as Inspekteur der Flakartillerie.

14 Jul 41: assigned under Generalstab d.Lw. effective this date.

15 Sep 41: renamed as above (Gen.d.Flakwaffe beim Ob.d.L.).

Nov 44: this large Stab had 64 officers and 186 others assigned - responsible for all matters concerning the Flak branch, especially the inspection and readiness of units and the 662,000 Luftwaffe Flak personnel plus 500,000 or so auxiliaries who manned the units and guns. A number of inspectorates were set up to handle this very sizeable task, and these are identified below.
