History
Established May 1943 under the Generalstab d.Lw. as General des Flugbetriebes, and then under the above name since 18 November 1943. Responsibilities included expanding the number of available airfields, maintaining these airfields, and overseeing and inspecting the entire Bodenorganisation (ground organization). This office is believed to have been housed at Berlin-Tempelhof airfield.[1]
May 44: expanded and reassigned under the Generalquartiermeister/Gen.St.d.Lw.[2]
Nov 44: now as Abteilung Luftwaffen-Bodenorganisation (Air Force Ground Organization Branch), and still under the Generalquartiermeister/Gen.St.d.Lw. - had 25 officers and 27 others assigned, and responsible for the planning, construction and defense of airfields, and matters relating to regional airfield commands (Flughafenbereiche) and airfield commands (Fliegerhorstkommandanturen).[3]

No information has been found regarding dates of formation and disbandment for this duty flight.
6 Oct 43: a Junkers Ju 52 assigned to this office crashed and burned at Gervellino (Italy?), 100%, Hptm. Günter Schuster + 1 both killed.[4]
