History

Established prewar as Inspekteur der Kampf und Sturzkampfflieger (Inspector of Bombers and Dive Bombers).[1]


c. Mar 40: reassigned under Chef des Ausbildungswesens.

14 Jul 41: reassigned under Generalstab d.Lw. this date.

15 Sep 41: renamed as above - General der Kampfflieger (L.In. 2) this date.

Nov 44: Stab had 32 officers and 113 others assigned - responsible for all Kampf-, Fernkampf- and Sonderkampf- bomber units.


For the period Oct 43 – Mar 45 (at least), the Stab was located at Berlin-Rangsdorf, then all or most of the Stab, including the quartermaster section, moved to Ansbach in South Germany.[2]

Dates of formation and disbandment are unknown.


9 Sep 43: a Ju 88A-4 assigned to the Stab bombed on the ground at Fp. Beauvais-Tille in France, 60%.

19 Oct 43: a Stab He 111H crash landed at Berlin-Rangsdorf, 15%.

5 Nov 43: a Stab SM 81 transport strafed on the ground at Fp.Beauvais-Tille, 80%.

2 Mar 44: a Stab He 111H-16 crash landed at Fp.Berlin-Staaken, 25%.
