Formation. (Oct 43)
Formed November 1943 at Lötzen in East Prussia near Hitler’s field headquarters at Rastenburg and at Berlin-Rangsdorf by renaming Fliegerverbindungsgruppe beim OKH. Had a Gruppenstab and eventually 1. – 3. Staffeln. 2. Staffel was formed in March 1944 by renaming Verbindungsstaffel 56 and was designated 2. Flugbereitschaft z.b.V./Fl.Verb.Geschw. 2. 3. Staffel was added (new) in June 1944.
Germany. (Nov 43 - May 45)
13 Nov 43: 1. Staffel Fi 156 taxied into a shell crater at Fp. Izyum/E Ukraine, 25%.
26 Nov 43: He 111 H-16 crashed at Mosty/NE Poland, 100%, Geschw. Kommodore Maj. Buchholz and Gruko Maj. von Petersdorff-Campen both killed in the crash.
Aug 44: main body of the Gruppe at Lötzen moved back to Berlin-Rangsdorf.
Sep 44: 3. Staffel disbanded.
Dec 44: 2. Staffel disbanded.
Apr 45: Gruppenstab and possibly 1. Staffel still at Berlin-Rangsdorf.
