History

The Helferinnen-Korps der Luftwaffe, under the command of Generalführerin Dr. Ursula Kuhlo (Jan 45 - 8 May 45) and her deputy Generalführerin Dr. Ruth Pietzner, was officially established 8 March 1945 under the Befehlshaber der Ersatzluftwaffe as the Luftwaffe's component of the Wehrmacht-Helferinnen-Korps (which had been ordered formed on 15 December 1944). It had a subordinate inspectorate of the same name as noted here. It was responsible for women serving in the Luftwaffe, the number of which were to be greatly increased had the war not ended in early May 1945.
