Belgium and Northeast France

Jul 40 – Apr 41: on standby with 9th Army for Operation “Seelöwe” (Sealion), the planned invasion of England that was eventually abandoned.


Central Russia

Jun 41 – Jan 42: supported 9th Army’s attack on the Soviet Union from 22 June via Grodno, Vitebsk, Nevel, Velikiye Luki, Vyazma, Kalinin, then withdrawal to the Rzhev area at the beginning of January 1942.

21 Jun 41: Koluft subordinated this date: 5 Aufklärungsstaffeln (4.(F)/14, 4.(H)/10, 2.(H)/12, 1.(H)/31, 5.(H)/41), Kurierstaffel 8, 4 Flak-Abt. (Flakregimentsstab 125 with II./4, I./52, II./491, I./Flak-Lehr) and Ln.-Abt. 1 (H) (mot.).

17 Oct 41: Koluft Gen.Maj. Müller-Kahle committed suicide at Fp.Brieg/40 km SE of Breslau in Silesia this date circumstances and details not known.

24 Jan 42: Koluft renamed Stab/Aufklärungsgruppe (H) Nord this date, with station probably at Vyazma, since Rzhev was too close to the front line and nearly surrounded by Soviet forces on this date.
