Formation. (Nov 43)
Formed 2 November 1943 at Rovaniemi/N Finland (ex-Luftgaukdo. Finnland). Under Luftflotte 5 to 16 Sep 44, then under Kommandierender General der deutschen Luftwaffe in Norwegen. Commanded all Luftwaffe forces and activities in North Finnland.[1]
North Finland and North Norway. (Nov 43 - Dec 44)
1943-44: Stab remained at Rovaniemi until the latter part of Sep 44.
5 Nov 44: Stab transferred from Banak/N Norway to Moen/30 km north of Bardufoss.
Dec 44: at Moen.
19 Dec 44: orders issued for the Stab to be reorganized in Dresden/Germany as Luftgaukdo. XVII(?), but there is no evidence that this was ever carried out. Instead, the Stab is believed to have returned to Germany and disbanded.

Formation, History and Losses. (Aug 42 - Feb 43)
Formed 2 November 1943 at Rovaniemi/N Finland (ex-Flugbereitschaft Luftgaukdo. Finnland).[2]
4 Nov 43: Fw 58 force landed along the Arctic Highway after the pilot got lost and ran out of fuel, 10%.
1 Aug 44: at Rovaniemi - reported 1 x He 111, 1 x Fw 58, 3 x Fi 156, 4 x Ar 196 plus 4 additional Ar 196s that were used only during the summer months.
12 Nov 44: now based at Bardufoss/N Norway.
Dec 44: probably disbanded and all remaining aircraft handed over to other units in Norway.
