Kurierstaffel 13

Formation. (c. Jun 43)

Formed c. 19 June 1943 at Wiener-Neustadt/Austria from assets of the former Kurierstaffel z.b.V. Afrika for service in France. It may have been based at Mourmelon/30 km SE of Reims, while another source claims it moved to München-Oberwiesenfeld two months later in August. Aside from a single loss entry, little has been found concerning the Staffel. On 19 Aug 43 a Fi 156 struck an obstacle while landing at Fp. Munich-Oberwiesenfeld and damaged 25%. Between 1 and 15 Oct 43 it was renamed 17./Fliegerverbindungsgeschwader 2, possibly at Bad Aibling.[1]
