Formation and History. (Oct 37 - Mar 38)

Formed 1 October 1937 in Stettin as Luftgaukommando 2 (with an Arabic number). On 12 October 1937 the Arabic number was changed to a Roman number and it became Luftgaukommando II. Luftgaukdo. II covered the same area as the Army’s Wehrkreis 2 - generally the area of Mecklenburg and Pomerania along the Baltic coast of northern Germany. As a result of the reorganization of the Luftkreiskommandos on 4 February 1938, Luftgaukdo. II was disbanded on 1 April 1938 and its territory absorbed into Luftgaukdo. III (Berlin).[1]
