Luftwaffen-Baubrigade II

Formation and History

Formed March 1941 for the attack on the USSR as a headquarters and staff (Stab) to exercise command over attached Bau units. KStN: 451. Place of formation not found. Its attached Bau units were mainly engaged in repairing and refurbishing Soviet airfields for use by the Luftwaffe. [1]

16 Sep 41: Stab in Minsk/C Russia. [2]

21 Jun 42: 2 KIA, 13 WIA and 2 MIA from the Brigade when a train they were aboard struct a mine near Gomel and derailed. [3]

Nov 42: Brigade ordered disbanded.
