Formation. (Jul 38)
Formed 1 July 1938 with effect from 1 August 1938 at Greifswald/N Germany (ex- Stab/Höherer Kommando der Luftwaffen-Lehrtruppen). Responsible for all Lehr- (instructional or demonstration) units of the Luftwaffe, i.e., LG 1, LG 2, the Flak-Lehrregiment and the Ln.-Lehrabtteilung, developing and testing new tactics, conducting practice maneuvers, and other related activities. Subordinated directly under Ob.d.L. in Berlin.[1]
North Germany and the Polish Campaign. (Aug 38 - Oct 39)
1 Sep 39: Stab at Gut Wickbold near Jesau in East Prussia under Luftwaffenkdo. Ostpreussen - took part in the attack on Poland in support of 3. Armee’s advance from East Prussia.[2]
4 Oct 39: Stab disbanded this date and incorporated into Luftflotte 1 as General z.b.V. der Luftflotte 1.[3]
