Formation. (Mar 41)
Formed 21 March 1941 (or 24 March) at Berlin-Wannsee (ex-Befehlshaber der Luftverteidigung in Luftgau III und Luftgau IV). From its inception, the command was responsible for all air defense measures in the Reich area and had the status of a reinforced Luftflotte. In fact, it was the largest and most important command in the Luftwaffe.[1]

No information has so far come to light about the duty flight assigned to Luftwaffenbefehlshaber Mitte, except for the following:[2]
28 Jan 42: He 111 H-3 damaged taxiing at Fp.Katwijk in Holland, 20%.
5 Jan 43: He 111 H-3 damaged undercarriage landing at Fp.Hannover-Langenhagen, 15%.
29 Oct 43: Do 17U damaged landing at Fp.Insterburg in East Prussia, 30%.
