Formation. (Apr 42)

Formed 1 April 1942 at Smolensk in Central Russia by renaming Gen.Kdo. V. Fliegerkorps.[1]


Central Russia. (Apr 42 - May 43)

Apr 42 – May 43: with HQ at Smolensk, responsible for providing air support to Heeresgruppe Mitte (Army Group Center) along the central sector of the Eastern Front.

6 May 43: upgraded and re-designated Luftflottenkommando 6.

Formation, History and Losses. (Apr 42 - Apr 43)

Formed 1 April 1942 at Smolensk by renaming Flugbereitschaft/V. Fliegerkorps.[2]


8 Jul 42: Fi 156 shot up and crashed near Demidov, 80%, pilot KIA.

13 Nov 42: Fi 156 C-3 crash landed in the Smolensk area, 25%.

15 Nov 42: Fi 156 damaged in accident at Rovanichi near Fp.Lepel, 25%.

18 Nov 42: Fi 156 damaged taking off from a landing ground near Nevel, 50%.

6 Dec 42: Fi 156 force landed at Fp.Izocha/25 km NE of Nevel, 35%.

5 Mar 43: Fi 156 Trop crashed at Fp.Smolensk-South due to pilot error, 35%.

6 May 43: renamed Flugbereitschaft/Luftflottenkommando 6.
