Formed c.17 December 1943, probably in Crimea, by re-designating Lw.-Bau-Btl. 16/XI and reorganizing with PoWs and a small German cadre. Had a Stab and 1. – 3. Kp., and a Geräte-Kolonne (Equipment Column). [1] History
1944: mainly used for constructing and maintaining airfields, but location unknown. Probably moved from Crimea in early 1944 and moved to western Ukraine. For the second half of 1944, the Btl. was in Poland under Luftflotte 6. [2]
18-21.1.45: elements ordered to Posen (Poznań)/Poland and used in the defence of the city. [3]
2-4.45: main body of the Btl. destroyed in Königsberg/East Prussia. [4]
