Lw.-Bau-Btl. 27/XI


Formed summer of 1940 from Heeres-Bau-Btl. 232, with Feldpost numbers issued between May 1940 and September 1940. Had a Stab (Battalion HQ and three Kompanien (1., 2., 3.) plus a Bau-Kolonne (Construction Column) which was disbanded approximately 6 months later. [1]

History

1941 – 1943: Btl. deployed in the North Russia/Baltic area of operations. (Tessin-Luftwaffe).

3 Sep 41: Btl. elements, including 2.Kp., in transfer by train (14 railway cars) from East Prussia by way of Pskov to Berezhki/N Russia along the Volkhov River 112 km. E of Leningrad. [2]

27 Nov 41: Btl. at Pskov under Lw. Bau-Rgt. 2/XI. [3]

1 Jun 42: a man from the Btl. reported killed when he was run over by an aircraft at Pskov airfield. [4]

21 Mar 43: Btl. Stab in Pskov under Lw. Bau-Rgt. 1/VII in a strength of 8 officers (or Beamte) and 57 NCO’s and men). [5]

Mar-Sep 43: Btl. disbanded. [6]

FpNs: Stab (L 38628), 1.Kp. (L 37892), 2.Kp. (L 36210), 3.Kp. (L 32538), Bau-Kolonne (L 34049).
