Formation and History
Formed April-May 1940 as a headquarters and Stab (staff) to command attached Luftwaffe Bau (construction) units. Place of formation not found, but almost certainly in Luftgau VII (South-Central Germany, i.e., Bavaria).
1940: Stab disbanded summer 1940 and immediately re-established using the HQ and staff from Luftwaffen-Bau-Rgt. 3/VII. [1]
Aug 40: Stab in Western France, possibly the Metz area.[2]
Jan 41: same as for Aug 40 - possibly the Metz area.[3]
Feb 42: Stab now in Caen/Normandy. [4]
Jun 42: same as for Feb 42.
Nov 42: Stab moved again and now in Rambouillet/SW of Paris.[5]
Apr 43: same as for Nov 42.[6]
31 May 43: attached and subordinated to Stab/Lw.-Bau-Rgt. 2/VII were:
Lw.-Bau-Btl. 20/III, 2/XII, 6/XII;
Lw.-Bau-Gerȁtezug 4/XII, 7/XII, Bohrzug of 6/XIII.[7]
1943: disbanded in summer 1943. [8]
FpN: L 05740 (1939-40), L 09625 (1940-43)
