Formation and History
Formed c. 10 February 1940 as a headquarters and Stab (staff) to command attached Luftwaffe Bau (construction) units. Place of formation not found, but almost certainly in Luftgau XI (comprising most of the territory of northwest and north-central Germany, including the Provinces of Hannover, Oldenburg, Braunschweig, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg).[1]
15 Jul 41: Stab at Lublin-Swidnik airfield in South Poland.[2]
Fall 41: moved forward and now at Vinnitsa/W Ukraine. [3]
1 Feb 42: Stab now in Kharkov under Luftgaukdo. Kiew. [4]
5 Apr 43: now in Berdichev/W Ukraine after withdrawing from Eastern Ukraine. [5]
1943: disbanded late spring/early summer 1943. [6]
