Luftwaffen-Bauregiment 4/XII

Formation and History

Formed c. 1 August 1940 as a headquarters and Stab (staff) to command attached Luftwaffe Bau (construction) units using personnel and other assets taken from Luftwaffen-Bauregiment Langendiebach. Place of formation almost certainly Langendiebach/6.5 km NE of Hanau in Luftgau XII. [1]

Apr 41: Stab in Western France and then transferred to Northern Norway between mid-1941 or the first half of 1942. [2]

Nov 42: Stab in Kirkenes/N Norway with 7 attached Lw.-Bau-Btle.: 13/III, 10/IV, 31/IV, 20/XI, 30/XI, 5/XII and 11/XVII. [3]

Jun 43: Stab still in Kirkenes, now with 4 attached Lw.-Bau-Btle.: 31/IV, 6/VI, 30/XI and 5/XII. [4]

Jul-Aug 43: disbanded. [5]

Obstlt. Paul Plaskuda (28 May 42 - 10 Aug 42?) (assignment order issued but then rescinded.)

Maj. Karl-Heinz Moelle (10 Aug 42 - c. Aug 43)
