Luftwaffen-Bauregiment 5/VI

Formation and History

Formed c. 19 Mar 1940 for service in Poland and Russia as a headquarters and Stab (staff) to command attached Luftwaffe Bau (construction) units.

20 Jun 41: Stab at Lötzen/East Prussia. Probably subordinated to Lw.-Baubrigade IV. [1]

Jun 41 – Apr 42: Rgt. Stab and attached Bau-Btle. deployed in Poland and Russia.[2]

Jun 41: Stab and attached elements in Minsk. [3]

Apr 42: Minsk. [4]

Apr 43: Stab and elements operating in the Smolensk area. [5]

Aug 43: still operating in the Smolensk area. [6]

Fall 43: believed disbanded. [7]
