Formation and History
Formed c. 1 August 1940 from Kommandeur der Bautruppen 75 as a headquarters and Stab (staff) to command attached Luftwaffe Bau (construction) units. Place of formation not found, but almost certainly in Luftgau XI (comprising most of the territory of northwest and north-central Germany, including the Provinces of Hannover, Oldenburg, Braunschweig, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg). Apr 41: Stab at Gross Schiemanen/East Prussia. [2]
20 Jun 41: Stab now St Passenheim/East Prussia for the invasion of the Soviet Union and believed to be subordinate to Luftwaffen-Baubrigade IV. [3]
Jul – Dec 41: on the Central Sector of the Eastern Front for the advance toward Moscow. [4]
20 Feb 42: Central Sector directly under VIII. Fliegerkorps. [5]
31 May 42: Stab in transfer to the Kursk area and still attached to VIII. Fliegerkorps for the summer offensive toward Stalingrad. [6]
Sep 42: still attached to VIII. Fliegerkorps for the offensive toward Stalingrad. Believed to have been destroyed in the heavy fighting in and around Stalingrad. [7]
8 Apr 43: disbanded.[8]
