Formation and History. (Jun 42 - Aug 44)
Formed (new) 1 June 1942 at Bug auf Rügen (or possibly Kiel-Holtenau and then immediately moved to Bug auf Rügen). Subordinated to Seenotdienstführer 1. Exercised tactical control over sea rescue assets deployed on the north German coast along the western and central Baltic east to approximately East Prussia. On 8 Mar 43 a Do 18 belonging to the Stab was destroyed in a force landing just west of Rønne on Bornholm Island. Possibly transferred from Bug auf Rügen to Swinemünde in fall 1943. Disbanded on 19 August 1944.[1]
