Seenotdienstführer Mittelmeer
Formation and History. (Jun 41 - Dec 41)
Formed (new) 5 June 1941 at Athens/Greece. Responsible for all sea rescue operations in the Aegean and eastern Mediterranean under X. Fliegerkorps. Moved to Taormina/NE Sicily when Luftflotte 2 transferred from Russia to the Mediterranean theater in December 1941 and renamed Seenotdienstführer 2.[1]
