Seenotflottille 81

Formation and History. (Aug 44 - May 45)

Ordered formed 19 August 1944 at Swinemünde by renaming Seenotflottille 6. Belonged to Seenotgruppe 81. Believed to have moved to Bug auf Rügen in November where it joined the rest of Seenotgruppe 81. Distinguished itself evacuating refugees from East Prussia to Pomeranian ports and in the evacuation of Kolberg in mid-March 1945. Transferred from Bug auf Rügen to Guldborg/Lolland in South Denmark in late April where it surrendered to the British 6-8 May 1945.[1]
