Seenotgruppe 50

Formation and History. (Aug 44 - Apr 45)

Ordered formed 19 August 1944 at Oslo/Norway with a Stab, Seenotstaffel 50 and Seenotflottille 50 using assets under the former Seenotdienstführer 5. Subordinated to Fliegerführer 4/Komm.Gen.d.Dt.Lw. in Norwegen. Responsible for sea rescue operations in South Norway and then north to around the Bergen area. Surrendered at Oslo on 8 May 1945 in a strength of 5 officers and 3 men.[1]
