Seenotgruppe 51
Formation and History. (Aug 44 - Apr 45)
Ordered formed 19 August 1944 at Tromsø/N Norway with a Stab, Seenotstaffel 51 and Seenotflottille 51 by renaming Seenotbereichskdo. IX. Subordinated to Fliegerführer 5/Komm.Gen.d.Dt.Lw. in Norwegen. Responsible for sea rescue operations in North and much of Central Norway. Moved south to Bodø in February 1945. Surrendered 8 May 1945 at Bodø in a strength of 2 officers and 1 man.[1]
