Formation and History. (Aug 44 - Apr 45)

Ordered formed 19 August 1944 at Pillau/East Prussia with a Stab, Seenotstaffel 60 and Seenotflottille 60 from elements of 1. Seenotstaffel and other Seenotdienst assets. Subordinated to Luftflotte 6. Responsible for sea rescue operations in the eastern Baltic area. Departed East Prussia in April 1945 and withdrew westward. No specific information has been found detailing the activities of this Seenotgruppe. Presumably surrendered 8 May 1945.[1]
