Seenotkommando 15

Formation and History. (May 42 - Aug 44)

Formed May 1942 at Benghazi/Libya by renaming Seenotbezirksstelle Bengasi. Subordinated to Seenotbereichskdo. X (Siracusa/E Sicily, later Italy). Directed sea rescue operations along the coast of Cyrenaica centered on Benghazi until November 1942. Transferred from North Africa to Marsala/Sicily in early 1943 and then to NW Italy. Still there under Seenotbereichskdo. X in January 1944. Disbanded May-June 1944.[1]
