Stab/Aufkl.Gr. 121


Formation and History. (November 1938 - c.December 1940)

Formed 1 October 1936, went through several changes, the last of these on1 November 1938 at Prenzlau/Brandenburg. Responsible for strategic reconnaissance for Luftflotte 1 and took part in the Polish campaign in September 1939. Still at Prenzlau in November 1939, but subsequently moved to Münster-Handorf in the West for the attack on France and the Low Countries under II. F1iegerkorps/Luftflotte 3, advancing from 10 May 1940 through the Ardennes and along the Somme to the Channel coast. For unexplained reasons the Stab was disbanded after the air offensive against England (Battle of Britain) wound down in the winter of 1940/41, and its Feldpost number deleted around March 1941.[1]
