Stab/Aufkl.Gr. 21 (2d Formation)

Code: (P2 + )

Reestablished at the beginning of July 1940 in France, probably by re-designating a Koluft or by using cadre taken from one or more of them. Assigned to VIII. Fliegerkorps/Luftflotte 3 on 13 August 1940 with 21 Hs 126s (two Staffeln). Its mission during the air offensive against England (Battle of Britain) is not known, but it was probably being held in readiness in northern France in the event the planned invasion of Great Britain proved successful. The invasion was called off in autumn 1940 and the Stab was sent to Poland where it was renamed Gruppenfliegerstab 21 around March 1941.[1]

FpN:Stab/Aufkl.Gr.21 (L 39895).
