Formation (May 1943)
Formed May 1943 at Skaramanga (Salamis or Koulouri), a seaplane base on an island just west of Athens-Piraeus in Greece (ex-Stab/Aufkl.Gr.126). Mission remained unchanged from that of its predecessor.[1]
Greece - Aegean Sea (May 1943 – Oct 1944)
5/43: Stab remained at Skaramanga until October 1944. [2]
7.2.44: with the departure of the operational elements of Gen.Kdo. X.Fliegerkorps for France, Stab reassigned to Kommandierender General der deutschen Luftwaffe in Griechenland/Luftwaffenkdo.Südost.
9.10.44: Stab ordered to transfer from Skaramanga to Lochstedt/near Pillau in East Prussia by Lw.Kdo.Südost. As such, the Stab was one of the last Luftwaffe units to leave the Athens area during the German withdrawal from the Balkans.[3]
North Germany - Baltic Sea (Jan – May 1945)
14.1.45: Stab at Pillau/East Prussia under Luftflotte 6 - convoy escort and anti-submarine patrols over the Baltic.[4]
29.1.45: Stab transferred to Parow/7 km N of Stralsund on the Baltic as the Soviet winter offensive gains ground in East Prussia.[5]
12.2.45: (Lf1.6) - a BV 138D-1 assigned to the Stab crashed SE of Stevns Klint/c. 50 km S of Copenhagen, 100%, 2 KIA and 3 MIA.
29.3.45: Parow (or in transfer to Parow?) under Fliegerführer 6/Luftflotte 6.[6]
28.4.45: Stab still listed under Fliegerfllhrer 6.[7] No formal orders disbanded the Stab found, but believed to have dissolved during the first two or three days of May 1945.
