Formation. (Nov 42)

Formed around late November 1942[1] at Tatsinskaya airfield to the west of Stalingrad to control Ju 52 transport formations being assembled to airlift supplies to the surrounded 6. Armee (6th Army). Initially subordinated to VIII. Fliegerkorps.[2]


South Russia. (Nov 42 - 1944)

Occupied by the Stalingrad airlift to February 1943.

3 Mar 43: a Ju 52 assigned to the Stab was damaged taxiing at Fp.Kherson in South Ukraine, 30%.[3]

Mar – Dec 43: where the Stab went after March 1943 is not known. There is some indication that

it was temporarily inactivated and then reactivated on 21 April 1943 by renaming Lufttransportführer Mittelmeer (see there).

10 Jan 44: Stab/Transportfliegerführer 2 at Odessa/Ukraine.[4]

15 May 44: Stab at Focşani/Romania.[5]


France. (1944)

Jun 44: believed to have remained in the East and then ordered to France shortly after the Allied invasion of Normandy on 6 June.

18 Jul 44: Transport-Fliegerführer 2 stationed in Debrecen/Hungary.[6]


22 Aug 44: Stab at Nancy - ordered disbanded this date by Luftflotte 10.[7]
