Transportstaffel I. Fliegerkorps

Formation. (c. Feb 40)

Formed around February 1940 as the Luftwaffe was preparing for the all-out German offensive in the West that began on 10 May 1940. Other details, such as its place of formation, are not known.[1]


West, North Russia, South Russia, Romania, Hungary. (c. Feb 40 - Oct 44)

10 May 40: Ju 52 force landed at Hives/SE Belgium due to engine damage, 100%, 3 killed.[2]

21 May 40: 2 Ju 52s damaged taxiing on a rough field at St-Aubin, 30% and 20%.

21 May 40: Ju 52 hit by AA fire and force landed at Le Quesnoy/NE France, 10%-60%.

5 Jun 40: Ju 52 crash landed at Vitry-en-Artois/NE France, 10%-60%.

23 Jul 40: Bü 131 crashed while doing acrobatics at Compiègne/N of Paris, 100%, 2 killed.

10 Jan 41: Fi 156 damaged taxiing at Guyancourt/22 km SW of Paris, 40%.

21 Mar 41: Bf 108 crash landed at Fp. Wien-Aspern, 35%.

15 May 41: Ju 52 shot down by 2 Spitfires over Manillet near Boulogne on the Channel coast, 100%, crew of 4 KIA plus Luftwaffe Generaloberst Ulrich Grauert who was aboard as a passenger.

22 Jul 41: Ju 52 bombed on the ground at Fp. Sarudinye/SW of Leningrad, 100%, 1 WIA.

19 Feb 42: Ju 52 rammed by a He 111 while taking off from Fp. Korovye Selo/30 km N of Ostrov, 100%, 1 injured.

25 Feb 42: Ju 52 shot up by AA fire over Izbietovo (not located), 15%, Staffelkapitän Hptm. Karl-Heinz Lieber WIA.

May 42: at Korovye Selo.

30 May 42: Ju 52 shot up by a fighter and force landed near Demyansk, 100%, 4 WIA.

21 Aug 42: at Korovye Selo.


[26 Aug 42: Staffel temporarily redesignated Transportgruppe Luftwaffenkommando Don on the same date that I. Fliegerkorps was temporarily redesignated Luftwaffenkommando Don. On 17 Feb 43, it again became Transportstaffel I. Fliegerkorps. See under Transportgruppe Luftwaffenkommando Don for the period 26 Aug 42 to 17 Feb 43.][3]


24 Apr 43: 4 Ju 52s bombed on the ground at Fp. Sarabus/Crimea, 3 @ 100% and 1 @ 10%.

6 May 43: 2 Ju 52s collided while taking off from Fp. Sarabus, both 25%.

10 May 43: He 111H-3 belly landed at Fp. Sarabus and damaged its undercarriage, 45%.

14 Jun 43: W 34 crash landed at Simferopol/Crimea, 25%.

27 Jul 43: Ju 52 crash landed at Fp. Sarabus, 50%, 1 injured.

12 Nov 43: Ju 52 rammed by another aircraft at Fp. Nikolayev, 40%.

19 Nov 43: Ju 52 shot up by a fighter near Fp. Karankut/E Crimea, 10%, 2 WIA.

30 Nov 43: Ju 52 rammed by another aircraft at Fp. Nikolayev-East, 60%.

Oct 44: Staffel disbanded in October or early November 1944. FpN deleted on 21 Nov 44.[4]
