Verbindungskommando Ob.d.L.
Verbindungskommando Ob.d.L.
Formation and History. (Jun 41? - ?)
No information regarding date and place of formation or eventual disbandment. On 22 June 1941 it is shown as consisting of a tiny Stab set up to direct the activities of Kurierstaffel Ob.d.L. and Verbindungsstaffel Ob.d.L. as they carried out the courier and liaison needs of Robinson (the code name for the operations staff of HQ Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe forward aboard Reichmarschall Göring’s command train at Hitler’s field HQ in East Prussia) and Kurfürst (the code name for the rear echelon of HQ Ob.d.L. at Wildpark-Werder in Berlin). From this is can be surmised that the Kommando was probably split between Rastenburg in East Prussia and Berlin-Staaken. No losses have been found that were charged to it, but these may be included under Kurierstaffel Ob.d.L. (see there). Since Verb.Kdo. Ob.d.L. only refers to the tiny Stab mentioned above, it may have been disbanded when Hitler’s command center at Rastenburg shut down on 20 Nov 44. [1]
