Formation. (May - Jun 41)

No information as to exact date and place of formation. May be the predessor of Verbindungsstaffel Luftflotte 1 (see there) after it was re-established in spring 1942.[1]


North Russia. (Jun 41 - Sep 44)

1 Jul 41: He 111 H-2 force landed at Fp. Märkisch-Friedland (Miroslawiec)/104 km E of Stettin in Pomerania, 70%, 4 injured.[2]

Jul 41: moved forward to Latvia and now at Riga-Spilve.

13 Jul 41: Fw 58 accidently shot down by German Flak in the Riga area, 100%, 1 WIA.

27 Jul 41: Fw 58 crash landed at Fp. Minsk, 25%.

30 Jul 41: Fi 156 crash landed at Fp. Ostrov/50 km S of Pskov, 25%.

2 Aug 41: Caudron C 445 crash landed at Fp. Kowno (Kaunas)/Lithuania, 20%.

28 Aug 41: Kl 35 damaged taxiing at Fp. Ostrov-South, 40%.

29 Sep 41: Ar 66 crash landed near Pernau (Pärnu)/W Estonia due to pilot error, 35%.

Nov 41: according to the Feldpost Directory, the Staffel was disbanded in fall 1941 and then re-established in spring 1942 with the same designation. This probably occurred at an airfield in Germany.[3] A published source states that this took place at Berlin-Schönwalde on 25 April 1942. [4]

21 Aug 42: based at Ostrov with 7 aircraft and assigned to Luftflotte 1.

18 Dec 42: based at Berlin-Schönwalde - Ju 52 crashed at Kozlów/Poland due to severe icing, 100%, 3 crew and 2 passengers killed.

26 May 43: still at Ostrov but not mentioned after this date.

Jun-Sep 44: disbanded (Feldpost number deleted 7.10.44).
