Formation. (May - Jun 41)
No information as to exact date and place of formation, but a published history says it was formed in April 1941 for the forthcoming attack on the USSR. [1]
Russia. (Jun 41 - Jan 45)
Jun 41: Staffel possibly assigned to VIII. Fliegerkorps to Oct 41.
29 Jun 41: Fw 58 bombed on the ground at Fp. Vilnius/Lithuania, 100%.[2]
20 Jul 41: Ar 66 crash landed at Fp. Molodechno/68 km NW of Minsk, 15%.
26 Jul 41: at Vitebsk.
4 Sep 41: based at Fp. Ryelbitsi/c. 25 km NNE of Dno with 3 Fw 58s, 3 Fi 156s and 5 Ar 66s.[3]
16 Sep 41: Ar 66 shot up by a fighter near Novgorod/N Russia, 60%.
29 Oct 41: all or elements identified at Jemeljanovo (Yemel'yanovo) (not located) where a Fw 58 force landed, 40%. [4]
Nov 41 – May 42: transferred to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. 25 April 1942 for assignment in North Russia, possibly to I. Fliegerkorps (as Lw.Kdo. Don from 26 Aug 42 to 17 Feb 43), to which it remained assigned to at least the end of 1943.[5]
31 May 42: based at Fp. Luga-Gostkino.[6]
5 Jun 42: Fi 156 damaged taxiing at Fp. Luga-Gostkino, 10%.
11 Jul 42: W 34 crashed at Fp. Dno/120 km E of Pskov, 20%.
20 Jan 43: Fi 156 “Trop” blown up at Fp. Urasovo/145 km E of Kharkov on the Don Front to prevent capture by the enemy, 100%.
27 Apr 43: Fi 156 shot up by a fighter over Krymskaya on the Taman Peninsula, 75%.
14 May 43: Fi 156 damaged taxiing at Feodosiya/E Crimea, 30%.
24 Oct 43: Fi 156 accidently shot up by German Flak near Znamenka/35 km NE of Kirovograd, 60%, pilot plus 2 civilian passengers WIA.
Nov 43 – Jun 44: location and activity not found.
Jul 44: moved to Vanatori/E Romania (68 km ESE of Focsani?). [7]
Aug-Sep 44: withdrew to Hungary with locations at Buzau on 26 August, to Szasz-Regen on 29 August, to Orosfalu on 1 September and to Piscolt/Romania on 14 September. [8]
29 Sep 44: now in Hungary with station at Mikepercs/11 km S of Debrecen. [9]
30 Sep 44: under I. Fliegerkorps and notified by OKL of the intention to disband it.[10]
Oct 44: Nyires on 9 October, to Kecskemet on 10 October, to Ferihezy on 11 October and then to Gödöllo/26 km NE of Budapest where it was based between 14 and 31 October. [11]
22 Nov 44: disbanded. The Staffel’s Feldpost number was deleted on 13 Feb 45.[12]
