No information as to exact date and place of formation found in the primary documents, but a published source gives the formation date as April 1941 for operations on the northern sector of the Eastern Front. [1]
Russia. (Jun 41 - Mar 44)
22 Jun 41: at Insterburg/East Prussia.[2]
2 Jul 41: now at Kowno (Kaunus), Lithuania. [3]
Aug 41: at Shimsk/Russia/12 km WSW of Lake Ilmen. [4]
Sep 41: identified at Ladygina/95 km due W of Kursk on the Central Sector of the Eastern Front. [5]
24 Nov 41: Ar 66 crashed at Prenzlau, 100%, 1 killed and 1 injured.[6]
Nov 41 – May 42: transferred to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. 25 April 1942 using assets from flight school FFS/AB 61 for assignment in South Russia.[7]
1 Jul 42: Fi 156 crashed at Chernigov/130 km NNE of Kiev, 45%.
21 Jul 42: Fi 156 crashed at Alexandria/56 km SSW of Kremenchug, 45%.
16 Nov 42: Fi 156 (PK+NW) shot down near Lepel (125 km SW of Vitebsk?), 100%, pilot MIA.
Jan 43: South Russia under Luftflotte 4.
10 Oct 43: W 34 crashed in South Russia - no details, 90%.
Feb 44: western Ukraine, possibly based at Fp. Proskurov/240 WSW of Kiev.[8]
Mar 44: renamed 2. Flugbereitschaft z.b.V./Fliegerverbindungsgeschwader 2. Change in the Feldpost Directory dated 31 Mar 44.[9]
