No information found in the primary documents examined as to the exact date and place of formation, but a published source states this was in April 1941 at Görlitz/Germany. [1]
South Russia. (Jun 41 - Feb 43)
Jun 41: at Zilenka attached to Panzergruppe 1 for the drive into northern Ukraine from SE Poland.[2]
22 Jun 41: Fi 156 crashed at Sawczyn/SE Poland, 70%.[3]
29 Jun 41: Go 145A force landed near Łuck/130 km NNE of Lvov due to engine trouble, 60%.
6 Jul 41: Go 145 (W.Nr. 1368) shot down at Szumsk (Šumskas) in SE Lithuania near Vilnius, 85%, 2 missing. [4]
13 Jul 41: Fi 156 (W.Nr. 613) damaged in taxiing accident at Roshow, 15%. [5]
26 Jul 41: at Fp. Belaya Tserkov/75 km SW of Kiev.
15 Aug 41: now at Fp. Kirovograd/C Ukraine.
6 Sep 41: 3 aircraft damaged when a German bomb accidentally detonated at Fp. Kirovograd, Fw 58 @ 20% and 2 Go 145s @ 15% each.
28 Sep 41: 1 casualty due to enemy fire at Koblijaki (Kobliyaki?) (not located). [6]
16 Nov 41: Fw 58 crash landed at Dnepropetrovsk, 15%.
Nov 41 – May 42: transferred to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. 25 April 1942 for assignment directly under Luftflotte 4 in South Russia.[7]
3 Jun 42: Fi 156 crash landed at Fp. Nikolayev, 45%.
27 Nov 42: Fi 156 crash landed at Fp. Morosovskaya-South/202 km NE of Rostov, 100%, pilot injured.
7 Jan 43: Fi 156 blown up at Avi-Lovski (not located) to prevent capture by the advancing enemy, 100%.
Feb 43: disbanded shortly after the conclusion of the Stalingrad disaster.[8]
14 Feb 43: remaining assets and new assets redesignated Flugbereitschaft/Luftflotte 4. [9]
