Formation. (Apr - Jun 41)

No information found in the primary documents as to exact date and place of formation, but a postwar primary source states it was formed or ordered formed in April 1941. .[1]


South Russia. (Jun 41 - c. Feb 43)

24 Jul 41: Go 145 crash landed at Skvira/99 km SSW of Kiev, 20%.

17 Aug 41: Fw 58 damaged taxiing at Fp. Berdichev/40 km S of Zhitomir, 20%.

18 Oct 41: Fw 58 ran out of fuel and crash landed at Aleksandria/56 km SSW of Kremenchug, 10%.

Nov 41 – May 42: transferred to Germany and disbanded, with assets returned to the schools. Re-established c. 25 April 1942 for assignment in South Russia.[2]

23 Jun 42: Caudron C 445 crash landed near Simferopol/Crimea due to engine failure, 30%.

18 Aug 42: Fi 156 crashed taking off from Fp. Voroshilovgrad/155 km N of Rostov, 20%.

29 Aug 42: 2 aircraft belonging to the Staffel bombed on the ground at Fp. Oblivskaya on the western approaches to Stalingrad, Bf 108 @ 100% and a W 34 @ 100%.

Nov 42: transferred to Nikolayev/SW Ukraine for reorganization as a night harassment squadron with the designation 3./Störkampfgruppe Luftflottenkdo. 4. [3]

Feb – Mar 43: before it could be employed in its new role, it was disbanded following the German disaster at Stalingrad. [4]
